The Fox Ylvis

Fox "Ylvis " is a track by the Norway based musical comedians Ylvis, which became known through the publication of his film on YouTube in September 2013. Ilvis is a combination of Bergen, Norway, composed of the Bård and Vegard Ylvisåker siblings. Since 2000 the group is known for improvisation comedies on TV Norge, especially in their home state.

"It has been composed and filmed by the duet for the TV show I Kveld with YLVIS and it has been filmed by the famous Norway based StarGate team. Ole Martin Hafsmo shot the musicvideo for the track and on September 3, 2013 it has been posted on the TV Norge YouTube canal.

It shows humans in animals in costumes, who dance with onomatoeic tones and describe how a fox would be. In the first few weeks, YouTube uploaded more than 11.4 million view and 57,000 commentaries. After its publication, editor Rejesusuable published the audio clip on /r/videos sub-reddit, where it got over 7,000 voices and 530 commentaries the next sunday.

Over the next few get-togethers, the tape was featured on several television channels such as CNN, NBC, The Guardian, Gawker, Wired and The Huffington Post. Billboard released an exclusive feature on September 7, an exclusive feature with Bård Ylvisåker, who shares his thoughts about the video's unexpected popularity: "The most surprising thing is that even the very first commentaries on YouTube "This one will be viral", "This is the new Gangnam style".

Usually you know that we get some hit and commentary, but it's all about the real content of the music. The following few week the band became even more popular and made their debut at number 29 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Top-Singles-Charts, where they now reach number 8.

Until September 23, about three inches after its publication on YouTube, the musicvideo for " The Fox " had received more than 50 million visitors and over 217,000 commentaries. The Hollywood Reporter announced on September 21 that the two Norwegians have entered into a contract with multinational recording house Warner in Norway.

Later Warner Bros. told us that they would publish "The Fox" on October 14th to US radios.
