Visas are endorsements on a passport or passport of a member of the Consulate, stating that the owner may remain in the Philippines for a certain length of year. There is no assurance, however, that the cardholder will be accepted into the host Member State, as applicants will continue to be subjected to regular immigrant controls in the ports of arrival.

Filipino migration officials have the power to issue or refuse permission. Burmese citizens may travel thirty (30) day without a travel permit and reside in the Philippines, provided they have travel passes in order to travel back to their ports of departure or next point of transit and their passport is issued at least six (6) month after their planned visit to the Philippines.

You can find the country lists of those whose citizens are eligible to travel to the Philippines without a 30-day residence permit under this page. Temporary visitor visas are generally valid for 59 consecutive nights per trip to the Philippines. Immigrant officials in the ports of arrival may, however, allow a period of less than 59 nights at their own option.

We recommend that persons with a 9(a) permit verify the number of nights they are permitted to reside in the Philippines, as noted on their passport by the immigration officer in the immigration harbour. You can apply for a provisional visitors' permit for one or more entrances. One-time entrance permits are issued for three (3) month from the date of issue.

The multi-pass is either for six (6) or one ( (1) year, subject to the charge made. In the Philippines, the duration of an entrance permit is different from that of the Philippines. Threemonth visas mean that a foreign national may travel to the Philippines within three (3) months of the date of issue of the visas.

Individuals holding a six-month multi-pass permit may travel to the Philippines as often as they wish, provided that they do so within the six-month deadline specified in the permit. In the case of group passport holder (where several people are contained in one passport), a different request must be submitted and paid for each of them.

Any person contained in the passport must be marked with a photo attached to the passport. Missing a photo is an adequate reason for refusing a visitor's visas. The applicant is reminisced to file the full application. In the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) has introduced the Long-Stay Visitor Visitor Visa Extension (LSVVE) to allow foreigners to request a six-month renewal of their visas in a one-off operation.

The programme provides for a 36-month residence limit for non-visa holders and 24-month stays for citizens requiring a VIS. It is also possible to change to another type of visas.
