Weather in Yangon - August - Heavy rainfall
Weather: Not much changes between July and August. Though the precipitation should be better at the end of the months, you should still be prepared for strong rainfalls in Yangon if you are travelling there during this period. Clothes: Always bring an Umbrella and clothes so you don't get wet; this is the most important piece of advise we can give you if you want to go in August.
Yangon can still be visited in August, but it is not the best months to go. High rainfall keeps your schedules to a minimum, so most travellers opt to go to indoor destinations. But if you are fortunate enough to find a good weather windows, it is a great way to take some photos because the scenery of Yangon is really nice at this point in the year.
The Kandawgyi Shores, formerly called Royal Shores, is one of two large Yangon waters. The Karaweik Palace, one of the most popular tourist sites in Yangon, is located on the east shore of the lakeshore, and the Shwedagon Pagoda is only 20 minutes away. Sule Pagoda, Yangon Chinatown and other rides are also close by.
Beginning in June 1972 and completed in 1974, the Karaweik Palace resembled the shape of the royal ship opposite the large Shwedagon Pagoda. Karaweik comes from a mythic birdy, which makes this place more atractive. There were two possibilities before the beginning of the project, when the local people were discussing the situation of the Karaweik Palace:
And Mandalay and Yangon. Yangon was built because the town had undergone a great deal of development during the Spanish colonisation and this was how Yangon became world-renowned. Now the Karaweik Palace, one of the 10 art forms of Myanmar culture, has become a symbol of Yangon and Myanmar.
The Karaweik Palace picture shows many of our buildings or currencies, showing the importance of this area. Situated in the centre of Yangon and existing for almost 100 years, you will find various kinds of memorabilia and regional dishes at the Bogyoke Marq. Since the weather is not always as good as anticipated, it is not a good plan to enter this area.
Besides, the Bogyoke is a really good place for girls as it is known for its food and outfits. The tour starts or ends in Yangon or Mandalay and lasts about 9 nights; visits to Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake.
