There are 9 best attractions in Yangon that every traveller must see.
One of Myanmar's most important towns is Yangon (also known as Rangoon). For Yangon, we had no expectations. So we spontaniously purchased our ticket to Burma (Myanmar) and knew almost nothing about this area. Well, after we get back, we've got a lot of Yangon trip advice. Burma proved to be an intriguing place, the most interesting of all ASEAN countries.
You' re not gonna see many visitors in this land. Burma looks very inventive with a white-yellow pastry namedanaka. So many intriguing things about this land that we have written our own article about interesting facts about Myanmar. Anyway, this pole is about Yangon Travel spikes and things to see in this lovely town.
Below is a shortlist of the 10 best places to be! Myanmar's most important shrine, the Shwedagon Lagoon, is vast and can be seen from many places in the town. We had visited several hundred churches in Southeast Asia and had expected nothing unusual from this pass.
It was the most wonderful buddhistic shrine we have ever seen! Shwedagon' is enormous and mammoth. It is 99 m high. Myanmari believe it was constructed more than 2,600 years ago, but this information is not supported by the historian. Archeological research has shown that Shwedagon is 1,000 - 1,500 years old.
In the course of the ages the church was destroyed several time. Burma believes that this place contains relicts of the four former Buddhas, making it the holiest place in all of Myanmar. Tip: In Myanmar you have to be barefooted to get to the template. SWEDAGON Pagoda is open daily from 4am to 10pm.
It is much smaller than the Shwedagon pit, but we really liked it! As there are no aliens there, you can see the locals pray and linger in a cloakroom. Sule is believed by the Myanmar population to have been constructed before the Shwedagonagh. It doesn't make any difference - this sanctuary is wonderful and it' definitely rewarding to visit, no matter the age.
The Sule Pagoda is open daily from 6 am to 10 pm. The Sule Pagoda is the principal street of Maha Bandula. Dine on Myanmar beers, taste delicious regional dishes and even deep-fry beers! It is also a very contentious place - some blame that the wildlife there has very bad conditions and that it is not a very secure place because of the shortage of pubs and shelters.
Nobody is there to guarantee the security of our people. We have no idea after we have visited the Yangon Sanctuary. We' re still not sure if a visit to Yangon Wildlife Park was a good or a poor one. The Yangon Sanctuary is open daily from 8am to 6pm. The Kandawgyi Lake and Nature Park is the most tranquil area of Yangon.
Great Royal Lake is one of the largest in Yangon and is located near Shwedagon and Yangon Zoos. After the visit of the pit you can go to the Kandawgyi Lake and then to the animal park. Yangon's most interesting area is China Town.
Maha Bandula Night Fair, Kheng Hock Keong and Sule Pagoda are located in China Town area, so you can see all these places in one go. The Kheng Hock Keong is the most important, oldest and biggest China sanctuary in Yangon. It is really small in comparison to Shwedagon or Sule Pagoda, but it is still definitely deserving a patron.
I like the tranquil ambience of this place very much. Entrance to Kheng Hock Keong is free. The best place to shop in Yangon! The Botahtaung Pagoda is thought to be as old as the Sule and Shwedagon Pagoda (more than 2,500 years old). It' a tranquil sanctuary on the riverbank.
Burma began reconstruction in 1948 after gaining sovereignty from the United Kingdom. The Botahtaung Pagoda is open daily from 6 am to 8 pm. You believe that everyone should obey their heart and be lucky every day.
