LocationThe airport is about 15 km from Yangon. DirectionsFrom downtown Yangon, drive northbound along Pyay Road, which is directly connected to Yangon Airport Road, past the Hlaing University premises.
It is common to hire a chauffeur-driven vehicle when you visit Myanmar. There are plenty of available and inexpensive shuttle buses and TaxisTaxis:Taxis from the airport, with firm tariffs in use. The journey to the centre of Yangon will take about 30 min. and prices begin at about $10-12 US. Payments can be made in either US dollars or Burmese Kyat, but be sure to use an authorised cab and check the price with the chauffeur in advanced.
By train: There are two train stops that can be reached by cab from the airport terminal, where the Yangon Circular Trainway reaches the city's main train terminal. Travel to town takes about 40-50 min and ticket prices are minimum (about US$1), from Yangon to Mandalay (12-14 hrs, US$30-50 fare) and other towns throughout the state.

AirportsMoney: There are a number of exchange offices and an ATM for international arrivals.
PSTNs are equipped with telephone lines and permanent web workstations. WiFi is available at the terminal, but it is said not always trustworthy. Essen: There are self-service cafes in the airport's main areas and further catering facilities in the airport's departure lounge.
A number of stores that sell the souvenir and handicraft locally, as well as duty-free points of sale on arrival and departures internationally. Carriers are available - please acknowledge the charge in advanced - and baggage carts are free but not permitted outside the terminals. Others facilities: There are first aids available, but otherwise the terminals are relatively restricted.
Conferences and officesThere are no airport congress rooms, but there are five lounge areas, two in Switzerland and three abroad. The 4-star Yangon Hotel (Tel.: +95 1 667 708; www.hotelyangonmyanmar.com (opens an outside website in a new tab)), which is about five min. by cab from the airport, offers rooms for conferences and meetings.
Disability facilitiesSpecial help should be agreed with the airlines prior to departure. Otherwise, the airport is more or less on the same floor, so it is relatively simple to bargain in a wheel chair. Please be aware that although the International Terminal is fitted with passenger boarding bridges, it is necessary to get on a coach in order to get to them.
There are no airports on the airport campsite, but there is a good selection close by and a broader offer in the center of the town. Many of the rooms in Myanmar Life open directly onto the luxuriant garden surrounding the estate. The breakfast is free of charge and the airport transfer is available on request.
The High Five Hotel Also a few steps away from the airport, the High Five is a slightly less expensive alternatives to its luxury neighbors. With 143 different sized apartments, MiCasa Hotel Apartments is a good choice for families. There are also meeting and meeting rooms available. Yangon Hotel The 4-star Yangon Hotel is 5-10 min. by cab from the airport and offers a magnificent view over the town.
