Yangon Golf Course is a seasoned, second oldest (some say it is the oldest) course in Myanmar. Founded in 1909 by the British at its present location, it has been constantly renewed over the years. Nobody recalls who created and/or constructed this rich, tree-lined and wavy course that now hosts regular Asian PGA tours.

Open since 1999, it is only 15 minutes by car from Yangon Airport and cut from the wonderful surroundings between the rivers Hlaing and Pun, hence the name. It not only offers a wonderful panoramic city centre of Yangon, this golf course also has very high standards of amenities.
Probably the most noteworthy of these holes is the Par-5 570-yard Hole#11 that branches off over the sea. Sea governs the other 70 meters to an almost island-like landscape. When you' re happy when you play this pocket, it might well have primed you for a great finale at the last pocket that looks like it, albeit with an insular foliage with a larger surface of sea around it.

It is a work of art to be played on today's Japonica grasslands all year round, from the serious floods that took place on the courses for almost half a year during the strong seasonal rains of the monsoons, to the construction of drainage channels along the courses, to the construction of subterranean cement reservoirs to contain the floodwater and later use the waters for self-sufficiency during the drier seasons, and you can do it all year round.
Interesting is Par-5 609-Yard Hole#12, which branches off over a ocean of waters before the dog's foot turns right to the right at 10am to reach the greens, with the central part of the course cut up again by a small current of waters; if you're a long hit, you'll make up for it here.
Yangon Myanmar Golf Course - Perhaps the closest golf course to the Myanmar International Airports, Myanmar (or formerly Burma) Golf Course is only 5 min by car and about 30 min to the centre of the town. The 6,756 yard par 72 course is fringed by old tree lines and stretches over gentle slopes dotted with plenty of potholes.
