Yangon in Yangon and Culture
Myanmar has a truly intriguing past, traditions and culture, and this sightseeing trip in Yangon gives you the chance to discover some of the town' s iconic sights and better understanding of it. Join your native English speaker leader, hop in our vans and drive to the Chaukhtetkyi Pagoda, home of one of the most honored Buddha in the land and one of the biggest in all of Myanmar.
In Yangon your culture trip continues with a stroll through the Kandawgyi Park, the neighbourhood. On the way, your travel guides will tell you about the locals' history and answers the many queries you may have about the town. We take a teabreak and watch the crowd before we go to the Shwedagon Pagoda.
In the interior of the east doorway of the pagoda there is a completely different kind of community fair that gives an impression of how important Buddhism is to everyday Istanbul. Once we have enjoyed the fair for a while, we walk up a long stairway to the pagoda deck, where your leader explains the uniqueness of the people.
It is said that the splendid pagoda's gilded cupola is 98 meters above its pedestal and was supposed ly clad with tonnes of unadulterated real estate and many gemstones such as jad, jewels, sapphires as well as diamond. The Pagoda Cupola is one of the most famous places in the town and the ideal place to complete a sightseeing trip through Yangon with traditions and culture.
When we have enough to explore the pagoda and its cupola, we hit our truck and return to the rendezvous point, about 30 minutes driving in. If you wish to stay in the pagoda, you are welcome to do so, but you are personally liable for the return transport to the city-center.
