Activities in Yangon, Burma

Yangon's nocturnal skies are a shallow one. It' s in the last few hour of the morning that it's best to see the turret-high gem found in the center of the town, the Shwedagon Paya. Shwedagon Paya is lit at dark and acts as a stunning gold light that can be seen from anywhere in the town.

Shwedagon Paya is the ideal way to discover the places, tones and flavours of this one-of-a-kind town. As far as activities in Yangon are concerned, the visitor is spoiled for choices. In order to limit this flourishing metropolis, we asked our locals for their ultimative recommendation........ The town and its citizens wake up as the rising Yangon is awakened and brings with it a hasty rush of 5 million residents to do busines.

There is a place in Yangon that's been open for the last couple of years. This is a real refreshing fruit and vegetable drink, the soft fragrance of the floral fragrance and the noisy barter choir, the Thiri Mingalar Market. It is one of the best places in the town to enjoy delicious Burmese food while immersed in the rhythm of Burmese cuisine.

Be enchanted by the diversity of Thiri Mingalar's offerings, from long islands covered in banana from the ground to the top, to wonderful bunches of blossoms and local beer. This is the perfect successor to the lively and industrious Thiri Mingalar, taking your leisure in one of Yangon's lovely inner cities.

The Bogyoke Parc, situated at the calm Kandawgyi Lake, is a great example of this. There are a number of different tourist sites with a variety of recreational areas, including picnics, museum and direct links to the Shwedagon and Maha Wizaya Pagodas. With the hot midday day skies deep in the skies, this is the ideal moment to experience Burma tradition.

Myanmar has a long history of performing with puppets and between 5am and 7am the Hwte Oo Myanmar Theater is brought to live. It is one of the most beautiful puppeteers in Burma, and indeed in the whole country, it is an unforgettable one. The show was staged by Hwte and his wife and daughter at their home and has gone on tour worldwide and won acclaim.

Yangon comes to life as the day sets.
