November to February is the best time to visit Yangon. At this time the climates are cold and arid in comparison to the otherwise warm and humid Yangon area. During the cold and arid seasons the mean temperatures are 19 to 33 degrees Celsius. It is the high tourist seasons and you can spend this time enjoying various outside adventures and sights in good weathers.
Hottest time of year (March to May) and monsoon (June to October) are not a good time to visit Yangon. Temperatures during the hottest time of the year rise up to 40 degrees centigrade, making it unbearable for outings. Because of the south coast of Yangon there is a lot of rain fall during the monsoon, making it difficult to discover the town or to do outdoors.
It is also the low seasons to visit Yangon. The Yangon region has a number of celebrations throughout the year. The Thingyan Water Festival, one of the most popular celebrations, was in April, followed by a New Year's festival. The Shwedagon Festival in Yangon is one of the biggest pagoda festival in Myanmar.
