The Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business (MCRB)
Myanmar Centre for responsible businesses (MCRB) is an effort to promote good governance throughout Myanmar. It is a common effort of the Institute for Human Rights and Economy and the Danish Institute for Human Rights. IHRB and DIHR are co-founders of MCRB.
The MCRB was founded in July 2013 in Yangon on the assumption that while companies and capital expenditures are necessary to implement Myanmar's humanitarian and humanitarian policies, only conscientious companies can meet this goal in the longrun. It is the Center's mission that Myanmar's public capital spending and operation will not only have minimal adverse effects, but also maximize the benefits to people.
MCRB' immediate aim, with the overall aim of promoting integrative commercial development and good corporate governance, is "an efficient and legal framework for the establishment of awareness, advocacy, capability and dialog on good governance in Myanmar, building on the needs of the communities and global norms that lead to more accountable corporate governance, thereby contributing to achieving lasting, integrative and sustaining commercial growth".
The MCRB' s present program will run until the end of 2018, and a new program is planned for 2019, based on the accomplishments and experience gained since the MCRB was founded. The IHRB recruits one or more impartial consultants to evaluate MCRB for the purpose:
The MCRB' mid-term reviews (MTR) were concluded in October 2015. The assessment should concentrate on points 1 and 2 and should refresh the results on points 3-5. Suggestions should address the task and indicate why the advisor or advisory group qualifies to carry out the assessment and how they would address it, together with a framework practice budgets, inclusive of advisor honoraria and, where appropriate, taxes.
