Shangri-La Yangon Sule in the heart of Myanmar

This is especially the case in the capitol Yangon (formerly Rangoon). As most of them arrive and depart Yangon, they should also devote some quality leisure to visiting some of the city' s musea, temple, spas, market and restaurant - and even more of them. Fortunately, a visit to Sule Shangri-La Yangon is also available to travellers on a modest budget.

The Yangon is large, really large, with a total of more than five million people. Shangri-La is central, near the Scott Markt, Sule Pagoda, Chinatown and colorful old English squatters within easy walking-drive. In Yangon, a bustling place that works at a hectic rate.

One of my favourite parts of our four-day visit was the local café in Sule. Every day there was a large selection of Asiatic and Hindi meals (such as pasta and dumplings) and foreign cuisines. Whilst the meal in the motel is excellent, you will want to go out.

Scott Markets offers freshly pressed juice, pasta bar, curry, fresh fruits and everything else you want to taste in Myanmar. It' s great to return to the motel after a day at the fair before the overwhelming sunset. Early night is a good season to visit some of the beloved Buddhist monasteries, as well as the glistening Shwegadon Pagoda.

Rooms at Sule Shangri-La may not be as stylish as some of Shangri-La's frequent clients have known. It is a large 484 room 22 floor building, but it never felt like you were in the middle of it. Prices for a luxury room with breakfasts begin at $170 US dollars on the hotel's website.
