Arrival to Nay Pyi Taw (Naypyidaw)
Choose different modes of transportation for information and click on the map to enlarge it. The Nay Pyi Taw International Business Park is about 30 min by car from the major hotels and most governments and departments. Cabs are around 15,000 K; there is no means of transportation. The Nay Pyi Taw coach terminal is next to the Myoma Square (Myoma Zen in Burmese), not far from the most important areas of the city.
Cabs should be around K5000 - although it can be more if your property is in a more remote area. Since the busses are arriving in Nay Pyi Taw, many people pass through the central area of the hotels - which means that you may be able to get off in front of yourselves.
and transport Yangon-Naypyitaw directly from Naypyitaw to Bagan? Is Mandalay really deserving?
Hello, I am going to Myanmar at the end of October with my 3 year old family. I' ve got a meeting in Naypyitaw and it's difficult for me to find a good way out of Yangon. There are no regular services for the date in hand, 27 October. The FMI charter costs 160 US$ per passenger, and it would involve pursuit to Yangon International which, I believe, would take an hours or so.
It seems that the transportation by motorway in the northern part of the country can only take about 4h. Busses seem to take much longer and I don't know if they are registered on the motorway (trucks etc. don't seem to be) - at least the LP information is rather vague, and even recommendable coach operators like JJ Express don't have clear information about the journey time on their website.
As it seems that it is not really possible to rent a vehicle and the hire of a rider for this route seems to be very costly, does anyone have a good idea how we can get to Naypyitaw in the fastest / most favourable way? We wanted to go to Naypyitaw, Mandalay, then Bagan. However, from the LP descriptions Mandalay doesn't really work.
So if you only had 2 wks for Myanmar and a wk for Yangon and Naypyitaw, would you jump over Mandalay and choose a place like Inle or even Mrauk U? Are the direct route from Naypyitaw to Bagan a real one?
