Traders YangonDealers Yangon
Yangon Traders Hotel - Review of Sule Shangri-La Yangon, Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar
Anybody who has spent the night at a Four Seasons, Conrad, Ritz Carlton or even a Hilton Hotel will not see much change in the check-in procedure, room facilities or the costs of service such as minibars, dining, shopping centres, etc., especially if they are booked into travel-account. A lot of events of multinational institutes and meetings of privately owned companies were going on when we got there around 11am.
Once, in the afternoons, our vehicle needs twenty min. to get out of the motel and to the first traffic lights half a stone/s. Maintained by Shangri-la everything should be fine, but our departure from Yangon meant a very early departure, a shared position among Myanmar's present travel-standard.
To keep to the timetable, we should have include breakfasts before the restaurant's opening times. We followed the procedure, as announced, to discuss our departure times, which should lead to a good, albeit restricted one. It astonished us when we reached the eatery and were welcomed by cleaners who knew nothing about our case.
Eventually we got a nice cuppa from a well in the foyer and a case with an orange tree, a slice of loaf of bread und a glass of swill. In this connection, it is hard to classify tariffs and value as the existing (but decreasing) restrictions exist to travelling to Myanmar in complete autonomy.
But, according to several travel books and other tourist professionals, prices in Myanmar are generally much higher than in similar places in Asia due to the surge in consumer demands. In fact, the Traders Hotel Yangon has been cited in many cases as the most important example of this practise, which is seen by these individuals as unhelpful to the country's tourist industries, so caution and analysis.
