Group Trips to Burma - Feedback? - Myanmar forum
Group Trips to Burma - Get your feedbacks? I' ve traveled with Expeditions and had a great family. I am sure it would be very simple to make unrelated agreements, we were aware that we only had two week, so we didn't want to waste our own logistic resources in the state.
Exodus will probably give you this information for appointments you consider when you call them. Squad sizes (18) seem bigger than normal for Exodus - and maybe a little too big. Especially the Burmese restaurant are not designed to serve this number of guests at once.
But we didn't have dinner as a group all the way. The bigger the group, the more likely you are to wait for laggards when everyone else is willing to move on. For one thing, you get to meet some interesting folks, if you are on your own, you have firm, if not, if you and your affiliate imagine doing something different on any given date, the chances are that you will both find someone who wants to do the same thing.
and I' m not sure what exactly they do, as our leader seemed to make most of the preparations as we went along - everything worked okay for us, but not always as he had anticipated, so you'd think the Agent could help by making it preparations well in advance of time ( "typically these journeys fill up quite quickly, so they know numbers etc. weeks ahead).
My tour leader speaks good English and worked very harshly for us. It tried to comprehend and fulfil particular interests, although there is necessarily not much room for flexible working for 18 persons. He would help with the arrangements if they wanted to do their own thing for one whole afternoon. Where possible, the tour leader planned our visit to prevent the biggest crowd of visitors - so we went to U Bein's Bridge at dawn rather than dusk.
It' s been good to have different ways of transportation - domestic flight, boat trips, biking, hiking etc. Groups are with Air Malaysia - the flight itself was good, but on the way back there is a long stop in KL, so it is definitely a good idea to explore other possibilities. I... flew internally on Air Mandalay, which seemed okay.
