Touristic attractions in Pyin Oo Lwin (Maymyo)
Formerly known as Maymyo, Pyin Oo Lwin is a highlands metropolis in the Mandalay Division. It was founded by the English army in 1896 and called Maymyo. This became the summers capitol of B.B.Burma to get away from the Yangon warm. Later the Burmese army regime was changed to Pyin Oo Lwin.
Knitting, floral and market-gardening, strawberries and pineapples, coffe ehouses and cows are the major shops of the area. You will find many attractions to see in this cityscape. Lovely blossoms in Pyin Oo Lwin all year round. KandawGyi National Park was opened in 1915 by a command of the UK Forces.
This is a collection of colorful plants such as orchids, roses and wild flora, as well as ponds and birds. Usually the floral festivities take place in December and attract tens of thousand of visitors. Pyin Oo Lwin's major attractions are also the Pagoda.
