Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Phiman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit. Thai (TY-land or TY-l?nd;[8]Thai: ??????????????, RTGS: Prathet Thai), formally the Kingdom of Thailand (Thai: ??????????????, RTGS:

IPA. Ratcha Anachak Thai: râ?t. ???n??t?àk ???n??t?àk t??j] ()), is a South East Asian state. 9 ] Between 1945 and May 11, 1949, it was again known as Siam when it returned to Thailand. Thai (???) comes from the ethnical group in central Thailand. Bangkok is the capitol.

It is the only south-east Asian nation not governed by the West because it was used as a borderland between English and Frenchs. Thailand is a constituent state. The majority of Thais (95%) adhere to the Buddhist teachings. A small number, however, mostly in the south of the land, follows the Islam faith.

Christianity, Hinduism and Sikhism are other faiths in Thailand. Now some of the Muslims in the southern hemisphere have started to fight against the Thai authorities because they want to be more self-sufficient (free from the controls of another country). There are many who believe that the first Thai state was the buddhistic empire called Sukhothai, which was established in 1238.

Succhothai gained sovereignty over the Cambodian state. In the following centuries a larger Thai empire called Ayuthaya emerged in the south of Sukhothai. The Ayuthaya family lived more than 400 years before his case due to the assault of a Myanmar state. Then a Thai military of China descent established a new capitol in Thonburi and became king T?ksin.

For a brief time Thonburi was the capitol. Today's Rattanakosin began with the founding of Bangkok as the capitol by King Rama I of the Chakri dynasty. Prior to 1932 Thailand was an absolutist monarch, which means that the king had all the might in the state. A group of individuals carried out a military coup on 24 June 1932 and transformed Thailand into a constitution.

Not until 1973 did the Thais elect a prime minister in an elections. 1951 there was a unsuccessful putsch - the Manhattan rebellion. 10 ] On September 19, 2006, the Armed Forces carried out a putsch and took power over Thaksin Shinawatra's state. May 2014, a new rebellion took out another regime.

Thailand had 12 coups d'états between 1932 and 2014. It is subdivided into 76 counties (???????, changwat), which form 5 groups of states. It also has 2 specially ruled districts: the capitol Bangkok (Krung Thep Maha Nakhon) and Pattaya. Many people mistakenly count Bangkok as a provincial city. There are 76 counties of Bangkok included, as follows:

PLEASE NOTE: In italics[1] this provincial code stands for the subregion Greater Bangkok, in italics[2] for the subregion West.
