Stave Church Norway

Norwegian Stave Church

Work culminated in the stave churches. The stave church is made of wood and the construction is made of stakes ("staver" in Norwegian), hence the name. The stave churches are concentrated in northern Europe, and some of the most interesting and best-preserved examples are in Norway.
