Priority for software development in ICT City
In an up-and-coming Information and Communications Technologies Area, software and information technologies will be a top priorities in Yangon. This Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) city is being built on a 360 hectare site near Thanlyin on the suburbs of Yangon, pending regulatory approvals.
"ICT City will concentrate on IT service. We' re going to concentrate on software and IT services," U Khun Oo, chairman of the Myanmar Computer Federation, said to Myanmar Business Today. "The Myanmar Computer Federation is taking a lead in the realization of the program. The Myanmar Computer Federation has used more than 3.7 billion k to purchase the projected area from neighbors, said U Khun Oo.
When the permit is issued, domestic and international enterprises are requested to establish themselves in the specialized IT area. "Now, specific commercial areas have been created, such as Thilawa. ICT City will be a unique area for IT and software companies," U Zaw Win Tun, Executive of the Myanmar Computer Professionals Association, said to Myanmar in an interview with Myanmar Busines Today.
Currently about 200 ICT businesses are working on a 20 hectare site on the campus of Hlaing University in Yangon.
Innoveller, Myanmar Bus Ticketing Software Company, upgrades Series A for further growth
1.11.2018 - BOD Tech Ventures, a Myanmar-based ventures group, has raised an unreleased Series A amount to invest in Innoveller Go Ltd, a Software as a Service (SaaS) supplier of coach ticket management services. Innovelleris was founded three years ago under the leadership of Kyaw Kyaw Win, who previously worked for the leading professional loan insurer in France, Euler Hermes.
To date, the start-up has owned the coach seats of all the important lines in Myanmar on its plate. It has handled 800,000 coach trips a month to more than 110 domestic locations in Myanmar. "We are optimistic about the long-term future of Myanmar's coach tourism sector; this is the most important path for the Myanmar population, both natives and foreigners," Kyaw Kyaw Win said.
