The GoBus project is aimed at making bus journeys smooth.
GoBus - a new bus ticketing application - hopes to offer a fast and simple one-stop store for motorway train etickets. Android phone users can already get the application, and GoBus CEO Ko Zeyar Wai Phyo is expecting to release iPhone and web releases in October.
The GoBus is already issuing 100 bus passes a days and hopes to collect new passengers during the October travel time. Mr. Ko Zeyar Wai Phyo said the application is primarily for people between the age of 20 and 40 who use the freeway busses three to four days a week.
However, the application should also be useful for Myanmar residents working in other states. Previously, clients had to buy seats at the motorway exit or through agencies in the various cities. Some of those who live or work outside the county ask their Myanmar relations or family to buy it.
Now, clients can buy seats from a distance by selecting their favorite bus line, fare and seating. "We already work with six bus routes and clients can go from Yangon to 15 cities in other regions," says Ko Zeyar Wai Phyo.
The GoBus partners with Boss, Lumbini, New Mandalar Htun, Myat Mandalar Tun and Shwe Mandalar buslines. For example, clients can buy seats to Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Taunggyi, Bagan, Lashio, Sagaing and Muse. Myanmar bus company Ko Aung Myint Maw hopes that all Myanmar bus operators will finally enter into a partnership with GoBus.
With the GoBus application, these bus operators can offer two to three months' sales in anticipation of the busyest time. That means they can offer additional busses in case of high demands. Up to now, bus operators have only scheduled bus transport one weeks in advance and have not been offering pre-sale passes.
This resulted in long lines at peak times and a ticket squeeze. The GoBus user can use Visa and MasterCard, the TrueMoney application or Myanmar Payment Union. Non-accessible customers can still continue to make payments at their GoBus account at their respective branches.
Clients must state their ID and telephone numbers and will be sent a telephone reservation receipt 20 mins after payment.
