Jellyfishes or sea jellyfish[a] is the non-formal name for the medusan period of certain members of the Medusozoa substrain, a large part of the Cnidaria tribe. Jellyfishes are mainly free-swimming sea creatures with umbrella-shaped buckets and following stalactites, some of which are not movable and are fixed to the sea floor by stems.

Jellyfishes have a complicated lifecycle; the mite is usually the sexually transmitted stage, the plantula larvae can spread widely and are followed by a seated pole stage. Jellyfishes are consumed by people in certain crops and are regarded as a delicacies in some Asiatic lands, where the fish are squeezed into the rhizostomae and salt to eliminate overflow.

Prickle cell, with which jellyfishes suppress their loot, can also hurt people. Several thousand floats are bitten every year, with consequences that range from minor complaints to serious injuries or even fatalities; small jellyfishes are the cause of many of these fatalities. Under favorable circumstances, jellyfishes can build large shoals.

A number of other invertebrates are often associated or confused with weasels. This is a schematic that covers all groups that manufacture the jellies that come from different experts' sources: A number of colonies of catfish, which have increased significantly in recent years, are new invading fish from other habitat types, such as the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, Hawaii and parts of the West Atlantic (including the Caribbean, the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil), both in the tropics and subtropics.
