The hotel in Mawlamyine opened on 25 May 2008 and is by far the cheapest in the city. There is free Wi-Fi in the hotel and the rooms are new and tidy and are looked after every day by an extremely kind and welcoming hotel team. Completion of the hotel was in the first three months of 2008, which means that the hotel is brandnew and in perfect condition with all comforts.

Situated in a great area. It' neat and very inexpensive. There is a small yet neat and functional bath. You have a desk clerk who is very good in English, very kind and supportive and books outings. They are all very kind and supportive.

Sandalwood Hotel, located at the crossroads of Lower Main Road (parallel to Strand Road) and Myoma Tadar Street, is a new, glazed hotel that is considered the cheapest in the city. With 35,000 kyat/night it is the most costly place we have slept in so far (they also have cheap rooms), but we have a calm, neat, large room with twin and twin beds, a proper private bath, warm running waters and breakfasts (a westerly breakfasts of bread, nuts, fruit, freshly brewed or roasted bread with egg).
