Rangoon the Largest City

Yangon the largest city

Myanmar's former capital Yangon (or Rangoon) is still the country's largest city and an important economic and cultural centre. This journey makes Yangon, or Rangoon, seem small and backwards. The majority of these people have now disappeared and Yangon is now a predominantly Bamar city with a large Indian minority and a growing Chinese minority. This included the decision to change the name from Rangoon (Burma's largest city) to Yangon. That'?

1st day: The date of entry

I' ve reached Yangon and made a 3-day journey, to be frank, it was one of my trips for which I didn't really plan much. Nevertheless, it was so simple and trouble-free to drive from the airfield to the city centre, where my youth Hostel was now.

Since I wanted to make full use of my 3 nights in Yangon, I began the first morning with the visit of the major sights, as recommended by everyone, even from the reception of my host. At about 10 o'clock I leave my hostal and set off for my pagoda trip and blew up the next pagoda, the Sule Pagoda.

They say that the silhouette is about 2,500 years old and 48 meters high with its sparkling gold canopy. Later I went to the Rangoon Tea House to get my dinner. So I deliberately drove there around 4.00-17.00 pm to capture the view and atmosphere of the Shwedagon pitot in the light of day and later capture some of the burned-up, gold stupas in the sundowner.

In the middle, Shwedagon Paya is sitting on a quadratic pedestal. It is also possible to go to the photogallery, especially for close-ups of the top of the page. There didn't seem to be a big party or nightclubbing enthusiast for Yangon's nightly activity, but there are a few community nightclubs that might be great for a meal and a few beers.

P.S.: Make sure you leave early, as most of these nightclubs are closed from 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. It is one of the best ways to see the city of Yangon to take the roundabout for half a full year. This whole round lasts about 3-4 hrs, in which you can see different satellites cities and some of the neighbourhood.

And not only that, but if you are weary, warm or willing to take the next step Yangon has to provide, you can certainly get off at any stop and take a taxi to your next adventure.

You can buy your ticket at the ticket office, get on at the eastern entry and go to station 6. Travelling tips: I've had enough of Yangon civilization, but it was good-bye. I' ve eaten my roasted paddy breakfasts in my youth hostel and have gone northeast on the hunt.

Finally I got some culture memorabilia and walked back to my hotel to checkout and drive to the airfield. PS. Transport could be a dream from downtown Yangon to the air. Ensure that you leave at the earliest 3-4 hrs before your departure so that you cannot predict your pattern of travel.

Procrastinating, I was concerned that I had not seen, understood or understood enough of the cultural dimension of Yangon as an industrial city. I was sure it wouldn't be my last time in Yangon. Whilst I made a last-minute map to some of Myanmar's most important sites and tourist sites, I haven't seen everything yet.

I will not be long before there is an appeal to come back to Myanmar, and a journey back to Yangon will no doubt be on my docket.
