Taxis to Shwedagon from Yangon city centre cost between 2,000 and 3,000 Kie. Sule Pagode is the main point in the city. It is situated in the midst of a traffic circle and is a kind of daily pace for the local people. This is not quite as magnificent as many other Myanmar marquees.

The Sule Pagoda is surrounded by diviners who provide their service to help you forecast your own futures. Bogyoke Aung San is Yangon's biggest store. In addition to visiting the famous attractions, it can be an adventure to explore the roads of downtown Yangon on foot. 2. We have some great excursions from Yangon to Bago and to the Golden Rock. You' ll be leaving Yangon early in the mornings and coming back in the evenings. If you don't want to move too often or if you don't have much free space, a Yangon excursion is a good choice.

Each of us spent a single evening at the Golden Rock and in Bago. Situated about 90 kilometres to the north-west of Yangon, Bago is definitely a worthwhile place to be! From Yangon to Bago we took the railway, which is definitely a one-time-event. Trains cost only 1,000 kyats per adult in the upper class (highly recommended!) and take just over twoh.

Every mornings there are several train services to Bago, so we purchased our ticket about an hours before depart. It is quicker and more convenient to hire a Bago taxi rider, but certainly not as thrilling. In Yangon, if not, there are a number of agents that provide this type of itinerary. When you make a full excursion, you will be taken by road directly to the Kinpun basecamp.

Then, it goes down again and back to Yangon. They can also be booked at any tourist office and in most hotel. You know what to do in Yangon now. They pay about 7,000 kyats for a cab fare to Yangon city centre. The journey should take about 60 min. according to the bad weather in Yangon. Yangon is the best way to get around on feet. When this is too far, you can take a cab from A to B. We would say that about every second vehicle in Yangon is a cab, so you should have no problem locating one.
