Queen's Park - Review of Queen's Park Hotel, Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar
In order to look at the ratings on TA, one would think that this was one of the poorest hotel in Yangon, which is over priced. and we stayed four night in a refurbished room on the fifth level. As a matter of fact, all the personnel are quite kind and queue up to welcome you as you go through the doors and hurry to help you with route descriptions to call a taxi, whatever you need.
Air conditioning worked well - which is important because Yangon gets really warm. Paints are new and the bath faucets are all new. Those corridors and the lonely lift look like something out of an deserted psychiatric hospital, run-down and somehow frightening. While it is under pressure and heat, the showers do not run off, but flood the whole bottom of the bath and soak the bath mat and everything else.
As there are no bath or room holders, it is a little bit harder to dry the bathrobes. Yangon is a messy, muddy, damp town with no sanitary facilities, and cockroaches are probably NBD for the natives, but they're a big business for travellers like us.
Toot or not?
