I' m looking at your hotel report: Yangon Max Novotel, Yangon, Myanmar
It is a great season to come to Myanmar, a land that has opened up to the outside after 50 years of war. Situated on the top of the turmoil of Myanmar's former capitol. Only a 20-minute car journey from Yangon International Airports and a brief cab journey from the main city.
Most of the rooms offer a view of the Shwedagon Lagoda - the holiest Buddhist Lagoda in the world. Doesn't really touch too sticky or aseptic. It feels like I broke into a villa in Toorak. I spend the next two nights in the already generous and roomy Executives Room and I am transformed into an exquisite Presidents Room - a large room with the best view of the city.
There is a large refrigerator with beverages, a cafeteria, an open plan shop, an open plan living and eating area with Rockstar candlesticks and a mirror edifice. The bedroom is so big that I get a few steps away to find the walk-in closet. There is a walk-in showers, orchid trees and a Yangon viewpoint.
It is the ideal place to relax with a cup of sparkling wine after a long viewing session. There are four pubs and three restuarants with foreign, traditional cuisines. People in singles sitting at open-air pubs sell long necks from Myanmar. Yangon Max is located near many touristic sites, among them the renowned Shwedagon Pagoda, which is only a 10 minute car ride away.
Robert, my travel director at Diethelm Travel, told me that the pit is made of 60 tons of pure goldfoil. At twilight we attend them as the last sunbeams lighten the gilded stupa. It has a refined yet relaxing atmosphere - it doesn't touch too stifling or aseptic.
She has been a regular visitor to Accor Hotels, Novotel Yangon Max, Scoot and Tigerair. I' d like to have spent more of my life in the president suites.
