In the 1820s, the Nevada area was invaded by Trapper and Merchant, among them Jedediah Smith and Peter Skene Ogden. Between 1843 and 1845, John C. Frémont and Kit Carson discovered the Great Basin and the Sierra Nevada. much of Nevada is an abandoned sage bush-covered wasteland. In 1859, Nevada became famed for discovering the Comstock Lode, the wealthiest known U.S. sterling deposit, and its mining operations have mined large amounts of Au, Si, Copper, Pb, Zn, Mercury, Barytes and Wolfram.

1931 the state established two industry, separation and gaming. Â More libertarian dividend legislation in many states has ended this discrimination, but Nevada is still the gaming capitol of the USA and a premier gaming city. Nevadaâ??s general revenues from gaming accounted for 5% of Nevadaâ??s total revenues, with $830 million coming from the game.
