Air Caravan crashed at take-off in Nepal
One Cessna 208 caravan of the Nepali airline Necon Air went down on takeoff from Jumla and killed four of the 12 people onboard. Nepal's government has nominated a panel of detectives led by Hari Bhakta Shrestha, co-secutor at the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation. The plane flew from Jumla - about 500 km (270 nm) northwest of Kathmandu - to Nepalgunj on January 17, apparently had power plant problems just after take-off.
The Nepalese civil aviation authority reported that the caravan peaked at a height of 140 metres before it collapsed with the motor on fire. The caravan, which was constructed in 1993, flew with Necon since February 1994. The Necon Air Group is expanding its fleets and routes. The company runs four British Aerospace 748 twins and one caravan.
The concluding negotiation for two new Bombardier Dash 8-300s, which will go into operation in March or April, is ongoing, Necon said.

The Necon Air - Nepal[Archive]
Wondered if anyone knew what was going on with Necon Air. In January 2002 I sent an e-mail to the air traffic controller about a legal office position and then received an answer from him, but since then there seems to have been an interruption in communication. About Nepal: If anyone has any questions about who to talk to about recruiting with Cosmic Air or Buddha Air, I would be very thankful for any information.
There is no prospect of Necon Air's expansion into International at this time (not in good shape). The Buddha Air gave back one of his Beech in 1900. I' m sorry for the sorry message "live from Nepal". Do you joke or despair to find a driver's position in Nepal?
It is better for any Nepalese airline to fly than to live on unemployment benefit.
