Burma travel information
Burma is the local tongue. Myanmar's monetary system is made up of 100 pya, and invoices are denominated in 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000 and 10,000 units. Liaison carriers are Myanmar Airways International (MAI), Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways, Phuket Airline, Silk Air, Air China, Biman Air, Indian Airlines, Eva Air, Mandarin Air, Malaysia Airline, Druk Air, Lauda Air, Qatar Air and so on.
Canada (Ottawa), Australia (Canberra), France (Paris), Germany (Bonn), Hong Kong, Indonesia (Jakata), Israel (Tel Aviv), Italy (Rome), Japan (Tokyo), China (Beijing, Kuming), Malaysia (Kuala Lampur), Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland (Geneva), Thailand (Bangkok), All guests must be in the possession of a passport and the required visa. Two types of tourist visa are available:
1 ) Flat-rate visa and 2) Federal Visa Notification. This type of visa is 28 day and can be extended. You can apply for it at the Myanmar embassy or consulate abroad. Visa on your return can also be arrange by your agency before your return, but only for packages.

July 9 (Waso Full-Moonday/ beginning of Buddhist Lent), July 19 (Martyrs' Day), October 6 (Thadingyut Festival of Lights/ end of Buddhist Lent), November 4 (Tazaungmon Festival of Lights), November 14 (National Holiday) and December 19 (Kayin New Year), December 25 (Christmas Day). In Myanmar a two-week renewal is possible.
Passports, 2 passports and an immigrant services charge of $36 are needed to obtain a Myanmar extended travel permit. In Myanmar the overdraft charge is 3 US$ per night and per capita. Please declare all currencies (over US$ 2000), jewellery, camera, radio, tape recorder, calculator, etc. at Yangon or Mandalay Internation Airports on your flight and keep a copy of the custom clearance document to be presented on depart.
