Below is an estimate of the number of individuals per ~100 meters per square inch of pixels using the chance woodland models (RF) as described in Stevens, et al. (2015). In the following pages you will find a detailed explanation of the RF models and their covariables, their source and the meta information gathered for each covariable.

Forecast Weight ing is used to dasymmetrically reallocate censuses and projects to reconcile projected population figures on the basis of UN estimations for the definitive population charts of AfriPop, AsiaPop and AmeriPop. The population density is the population density value used to calculate the HF modelling used to generate the above forecast weights.

The figures are the population density gauged by humans per ha and computed from the population figures within each counting area. Describtion: In July 2015, these figures were collected for use in WorldPop efforts. In order to adjust the population figures, the Sittwe, Maungdaw and Mrauk-U counties of Rakhine State were combined, and therefore the dissolution of the Population Quensus was between the two.

Finally, due to incompatibility between the shape file administration threshold values and the township levels survey values, areas corresponding to the self-governing Wa areas in the Shan state were combined into administrative regions and entered into the administration LVI 2 system. The other areas were entered into the style as administration ivl 3 (township) files.

VMAP0 datasets were download as seperate datasets, grouped by continents and combined to custom shapes to subdivide and process them for population charts.
