One of our partners, Word of Hope, is leading an Assemblies of God church that aims to share the Gospel with the people of Myanmar. The study trip provides students with an introduction to the current social, political and economic changes in Myanmar.

In spite of limitations on the immigration of military officials and laymen from abroad, the Myanmar Salvationists have further developed their testimony and ministry in the country, especially in Obermyanmar (Mizo speaking). The Myanmar region became part of the territory of Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar in 1994. A Regional Representative will lead the region.

Four district assemblies are led by district officers. Myanmar region has three orphanages. In Obermyanmar, a broad-based HIV/AIDS program is being implemented at local level. These include information and hands-on assistance for HIV/AIDS-affected family. A microcredit program enables the region to provide for itself.

The Pindaya Cave: The Pindaya cave is located near the Shan town of Pindaya, not far from Lake Inle. While there are three caverns, only one is open to the public.) Justification and adaptation of present legislation and ordinances on agribusiness to the present state of the economy. Recognizing the importance of Myanmar's forest industry and the need for ecological sustainable management, Myanmar's forest policy is in line with the forest management policies adopted by the United Nations Conference on Environment in 1992.

Raising people' s understanding of the important roles of the forest in the well-being and socio-economic evolution of the country. Fishing and cattle are the second most important sector after farming to satisfy the people' s demand for proteins, increase nutritional safety and create jobs for agribusiness. Cattle and fishing represent more than seven per cent of the country's GNP.

The Ministry of Cattle Breeding, Fisheries and Regional Policy is aiming to promote the sustainable growth of the countryside, to enhance the socio-economic position of the countryside and to fill the gaps in economic and social cohesion between towns and between them. It is the primary objective of the cattle industry: Improving the welfare of animals and housing stock through better welfare.
