Myanmar full Moon Festival 2016The Myanmar Full Moon Festival 2016
Enjoy full moon day of Tabaung
yesterdays was the full moon of Tabaung, a period when couples all over the country and resorts are overcrowded with buddhistic followers. Kids and their families are feeding the elephant sugar cane in Yangon Zoo, which drew people from many parts of Myanmar to visit Yangon last night, the beginning of a four-day vacation for officials.
"This is my first time at Yangon Sanctuary. I' said Maung Win Aung, who recently celebrated his ninth birthday in Myingyan, CMB. To him, elephant feed was the favorite part of his trip to the wildlife shelter. Humans love to watch the elephants' abilities as they step the elephant balls into the net, the appearances of domesticated apes and cubs, magical shows and a snakeshow.
"I' ve been showing my skill with venomous serpents for about 30 years. I' m happy to act for humans all over the country", said the serpent leader and dancer U Sein Tin. "I' m making the Yangon Pongoes during the Tabaung week. In the mornings I went to the Botahtaung and Kyaik Wine and Mei Lamu Pagods and I am planning to go to the big Shwedagon Ice Cream.
However, many Yangon people said they preferred to visit places outside Yangon. "As for me, I didn't go to other places because I have to buy something near the Sule Pagoda. "I wanted to go to Kawthaung, but I had to change my trip because it is hard to buy a ticket during the festival.
"I' ll go to Bagan-Nyaung Oo and the Shwe Sat Taw pit to see the legacy of Myanmar. I decided to go there this year to share with my family," said Ko Aung Win from Sanchaung community. "During the holiday season, most folks go to Ngwe Saung and Chaungtha Strand.
I understand Yangon folks like to go to the Kyaikhteeyoe Ridge. There' are many folks who will be visiting Mandalay, Pyin-Oo-Lwin and Bagan," said Ko Phone, a rider.
