With the Myanmar Times nearing the end of its second year of day-to-day publishing and Myanmar completing its first year under the National League for Democracy-led administration, the Myanmar Times publisher needs to build on the newspaper's current strength, but also prepare it for tomorrow's challenge in a burgeoning and digitizing newsmagazine.

It is a challenging, high-level role and an ideal occasion for a reporter to face the challenge of a fast moving information landscape and re-define the identities of an award-winning nationwide work. He will work with the editorial teams of the newspaper Nachrichten, Business, Lifestyle, World, Sport and Weekend to create, publicize and advertise contents that are not only reportable, but also meet the highest editorial quality requirements.

Myanmar Times in Myanmar provides a comprehensive coverage of all facets of Myanmar operations, covering global commerce, overseas investments, housing and construction developments, processing, technology and telecommunication, gem and jewelry trading and the recently opened Yangon Stock Exchange, as well as important local and global histories.

It reports to the English editor and is in charge of a 4-page section with regional and global economic information on a day-to-day basis. Key tasks are to manage a team of reports and assign story assignments, edit text, review facts, page layouts, create imaginative titles and subtitles, and select snaps. It also includes coverage, lettering and on demand analytics, and encourages the editor to provide input.
