Careers - Yangon International School (Myanmar)
We have a high proportion of professors who come back every year for good reason: we are proud of our schools and the dynamism that they have. When you are unable to personally come and see us, please look through our website to see our connected fellowship that enables our educators and co-workers to benefit from years of experience in Yangon, Myanmar.
What is the start of the recruitment procedure abroad? ISY admins also need support from Search Associates and the University of Northern Iowa oversee placement service. The ISY program is based on at least two years of educational work. How does a local and a foreign employed instructor differ?
Instructors employed on site usually come (or come) to Yangon at their own request. In many cases, native instructors are already working for another organisation in the respective countries (e.g. other non-governmental organisations in Myanmar, NGOs, etc.). As ISY has not specifically referred this student to the institution from abroad, the following services are not available to staff working locally:
A foreign employed instructor is employed from abroad and is eligible for services abroad. Which is the usual starting date for new instructors? Normally the academic year is from the first to the first weeks of August and June. There are 180 teaching hours and approx. 190 working hours for schoolteachers.
Are there any guidelines for new instructors? The ISY provides a very comprehensive guidance for all new instructors. How does a normal academic year look like? ISY schooling starts at 7:30 am and ends at 2:45 pm for the pupils; instructors are asked to stay on college until 3:30 pm every working week.
Most of the time, however, many members of the college are here longer to take advantage of extracurricular activity and coaches. We are always lively with members of the fellowship who attend the many different weekly outings. Instructors have one daily a weeks for face-to-face and colleague scheduling. What is the expectation after graduation?
You' re free to spend as much of your free hours on extracurricular activities and plans as you wish. Each year we commemorate International Day on a Saturday in February and a family festival each year on a Saturday in November; we invite everyone to take part in these particular activities.
You' ll find that the college may attract more than other colleges as it hosts a wide range of our ISY fellowship meetings. There are many ways to get active, from coachings and extracurricular activity to direction and conductors. First and foremost, we welcome instructors who manage groups, meetings and programmes whenever possible.
Are there any special trainings and workshops for ISY lecturers and employees? The ISY School has a community center; every months (and usually more often) instructors and employees meet to meet and socialize. Quiz Night or Burma Buffet instructors seem to work together to design and schedule a good stay.
How does the general feeling of the academy? Once you have met the locals, the astonishing college and the expatriates who make up our college, you will experience the unique feeling of belonging that few places in a classroom area have.
