In order to find out what it's like to be in Myanmar at this hour, just try to recall the midsummer when you and your buddies tried to meet those on the beaches with depth charges.

Burma's government advisor demands joint power to meet challenge - Xinhua
Yangon, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar State Councillor Aung San Suu Kyi on Sunday evening appealed for a joint effort to meet the challenge of the new calendar year 1380, which begins on April 17, 2018. "It is essential to create the kind of peacemaking and stabilization we need," Aung San Suu Kyi said in her address to the people on the second jubilee of the National League for Democracy (NLD) state.
It urged the peoples to endorse and encourage the government's quest for lasting stability, especially among youngsters. Mr Aung San Suu Kyi also appealed for a common commitment to the creation of a just and free country - a country that guarantees equals and equals and practices a purely ideological approach.
Aung San Suu Kyi noted that one of the government's key objectives was the evolution of socio-economic activity and insisted that once the picture had been assessed, a policy should be formulated and action made. It announced that next year the Indonesian authorities will pass programmes that will deliver genuine benefits to the country's population.
Speaking about U Win Myint's appointment as the country's new leader last weeks, Aung San Suu Kyi said the vote reflected the increasing sophistication of the country's democracy and politics and showed a proud fact that a second-generation leader capable of performing the tasks of the state with good morals, perseverance and intelligence has been called.
Myanmar's incoming U Win Myint and two other vice-presidents were inaugurated on Friday. He undertook to set three objectives as his priorities: the Rule of Justice and the enhancement of the socio-economic lives of the population, as well as the achievement of a spirit of national unity and internal stability, and the revision of the Constitutional Charter for the creation of a democratic federation.
NLD won the overwhelming majority of Parliament' s seat in the November 2015 general elections and its administration took over in April 2016.
