Her budget tour is about to begin! Yangon, the former capitol, also known as Rangoon, is still Myanmar's biggest town and the country's most important trading centre and gate for most people. We' ll take you to the hotels for the remainder of the afternoon, to relax or to discover the town.
In the early hours of the day we go to Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the most amazing gold Stupas in the game. We' ll be visiting this place early in the day to avoid overcrowding and to have good lighting for pictures. Following our breakfasts we shall stop at Sule Pagoda and Chaukhtatgyi Temple, where you can see one of the largest and most charming Buddha sculptures in Southeast Asia, followed by a stroll through the Old Town and Chinatown, with a brief stop at Scots Market, a place for memorabilia and local cuisine.
We will take you to the central train terminal in the evenings and board the taxi to Mandalay. We arrive in the early hours of the day in Mandalay. Mandalay, the last capitol of Myanmar's third empire, is located in the center of the nation, about 668 km northern of Yangon.
It' the biggest town after Yangon and is both a busy trading center and a depot of antique music. Mandalay is a window to Myanmar's arts and crafts and is known as the country's European capitol of civilisation, with the ruins of the old royal town, holy abbeys and many other sights.
Today's tour includes the mentally important Mahamuni Pagoda, which is home to one of the most renowned sitting Buddha pictures in all of Myanmar. In the afternoon we will stop at Amarapura, the second to last capital of Myanmar. End the outing with the legendary U Bien's Bridge for sunsets with a boat that crosses Taungthaman Lake and is the longest trekking bridge in the run.
On your return to Mandalay you can see the best confectionery in Myanmar, the Royal Palace and the setting sun from Mandalay Hill. In the early mornings you can take a hot air flight in Bagan (which must be reserved in advance) or go to a lookout from where you can watch the hot air blowing over the pagoda.
You' ll see colourful fairs and the Shwezigon Pod. Transfers to the Nyaung Shwe (Inle Lake) from there. In the early mornings we take the ferry to Indein, where there are more than 1,000 Stupa. We' ll stay all afternoon at Inle lake attending swimming pools, a small village fair, Phaung Daw Oo, a holy Buddhist temple and the Jumping Cat Monastery.
They can have their lunches in a lakefront restaurants. At the end of the morning there is a wonderful sundown at Inle See. In the morning you can stop at other craft shops by the lakeside and Nyaung Shwe, the primary entrance to Inle Lak. We then continue to PHAUNGDAW OO PAGODA, one of Myanmar's holiest churches from the eighteenth centuary; SILVER SMITH, BLACK SMITH, CIGAR AND INPAWKHONS.
Visitor in the afternoons. Beautifully sculpted wood swimming convent in the NGA PHE KYAUNG MONASTERY lakeside. At night we will be transferred to the V.I.P. coach that will take us to Yangon. They' ll be arriving in Yangon early in the mornings. Depending on the timing of your stay, we can take you directly to the airfield or give you a vehicle and chauffeur for the remainder of the night to buy a souvenir or go to a souvenir shop and have another full days in Yangon.
