Biography of Than Shwe

Former Burma chief General Than Shwe (also known as Myanmar) is a mysterious, vengeful man. In 2005, on the recommendation of an astrologist, he stirred the state capitol mainly over night. In spite of his total powers, Than Shwe was so withdrawn that most Myanmar citizens did not even hear his part.

Thane Shwe's regimes were so violent and dirty that in 2008 he was regarded as one of Asia's five most evil rulers. He was borne on February 2, 1933 in Kyuakse, in the Mandalay Division of Burma. Burma was regarded as a UK settlement at the moment of Than Shwe's death. Little detail of Than Shwe's training has appeared, although some reports say he went to state primary before leaving high schools.

Shwe's first post-school ruling postman position. Some time between 1948 and 1953, young Than Shwe joined the Myanmar military, where he was placed in the "psychological warfare". It was part of the government's reckless anti-Karen guerrilla drive in East Burma.

It was this expertise that led to Shwe's many years of involvement in a mental health clinic for a post-traumatic exercise disturbance. Yet Shwe was known as a ruthless warrior; his unbreakable stile earned him the status of skipper in 1960. Than Shwe assisted General Ne Win in the 1962 Coup d'Etat, which ended Burma's brief post-independence democratic history.

Shwe took control of the Southwest Region/Irrawaddy Delta near Rangoon in 1983. Shwe was appointed in 1985 as Deputy Chief of the Army Staff and Deputy Secretary of Defense. In the following year he was again appointed to the General Majord and became a member of the Central Executive Committee of the Burmese Socialist Party.

Than Shwe changed into a high cabinet post because he "could drill everyone else into subjection. Mr. Shwe also supervised Burma's accession to ASEAN in 1997 and took action against formal bribery. Moreover, Than Shwe's catastrophic macroeconomic policy has made Burma one of the worlds impoverished states.

In view of his early connection with the violent precipitation of Karen independency and pro-democracy movement, it is not astonishing that Than Shwe showed little respect for inequality. For its part, the regime used rapes, tortures, executions and enforced enforcements to keep the population under surveillance. Meanwhile, Than Shwe and other top executives were enjoying a very pleasant life style (apart from the worry of being dismissed).

Surrounding the junta's lavishness was shown in a leaky videotape about the marriage ceremony of Shwe's sister Thandar and an military emajor. It depicts diamond rope, a massive golden bride crib, and vast quantities of bubbly, indignant Burmese and global population.

But it wasn't just gems and BMWs for Shwe. Than Shwe resigned as Myanmar's sovereign on March 30, 2011 and continued to withdraw from view. A handpicked follower, President Thein Sein, has embarked on a range of reform and opened Myanmar surprisingly to the global fellowship since he took over.

Aung San Suu Kyi was even able to run for a congressional chair, which she won on April 1, 2012.
