Myanmar Balloon Festival 2015The Myanmar Balloon Festival 2015
Celebration of the hot-air balloon festival in Myanmar at full-moon
Myanmar is hosting a balloon festival to commemorate Tazaungdine, the Festival of candles. Tazaungdine takes place in the eight months of the tradition year and marks the end of the wet seasons. This celebration coincides with the full lunar day on 26 November this year.
The Taunggyi Fire Balloon is one of the most famous festival celebrations. It will fill the atmosphere with warm aerials that will be discharged into the skies to take away sin. Ballons made of reusable paper (bamboo and mulberries ) are published 24 hours a during the six days of the year.
The last year's show was tragic after two viewers were murdered and others were wounded after a balloon with firework fell on the mass.
Tunggyi Ballon Festival Dates 2017
Do you plan to go to the Taunggyi Balloon Festival this year? This was one of the high points of my stay in Myanmar and a generally great night! To get a deeper overview of the Taunggyi Festival, have a look at my Taunggyi Balloon Festival Blogs posting, for this year' s Taunggyi Balloon Festival events, read on.... edit: The Taunggyi Balloon Festival is scheduled for October 26 - November 3, 2017, to coincide with the full month of November.
It has been verified by authentic local people in the area, the Novotel on Lake Inle and the Aythaya vineyard in Taunggyi. Taunggyi Balloon Festival 2016 events were approved as November 6 - November 14, 2016 (confirmation came directly from Novotel Inle Lake and Aythaya Vineyard in Taunggyi) to coincide with the first full month after the end of Buddhist fast.
I don't know the date for the Taunggyi Balloon Festival 2017 yet, but as soon as they are released I will refresh this page. This festival begins in the mornings and lasts until the early mornings, without an opening hour. In the evenings you go to the festival for firework hot-air balloons, for a more child-friendly period you should keep to the day's activities.
This is the program of activities for the entire event so that you can schedule your Taunggyi visit accordingly and not miss it. 2 and 3 November will probably be the busyest, with the last dark getting very strong and sometimes hazardous. As a rule, the 1st working Day is very occupied with an opening party in the evenings.
To get a little insight into the things you can await at the Taunggyi Balloon Festival, I made some videos of one of the former baloons that were put up and sent to heaven, as well as the process ceremony once it had gone off safe and did not fall back to the ground.
After a few hour, around noon, it was almost not possible to get on the balloon pitch, because there were so many persons there!
