11 carriers will gradually switch from YIA, T 2 to T1 in July 2018. Biman Bangladesh is the first airline to move from T1 to T1 on July 7, 2018, with 11 carriers gradually switching from T1 to T1 with the opening of YIA's inter-terminal link. Supported by increasing income, some 13 million Chinese travel abroad each year, but less than half a million came to Myanmar because there are no good interconnection hubs with global air capacities, U Kyaw Win said at a briefing with the Vice President at the Republic of Myanmar Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industries (UMFCCI) offices last night.

"Heho, Magwe and Pakokku are all equipped with take-off and landing strips but do not have the capability to service them. Myanmar, but we don't have good airfields to get them in. So we will turn them into multinational airfields so that they can welcome these tourists," said U Kyaw Win.

Modernization of the three airfields will be part of a series of B&R-project. "There will be many large scale investments under this passageway in Myanmar and everyone, even those locally based companies that want to make investments, will be encouraged and supported," said U Kyaw Win. "When those businesses come into play, it is up to your locals to suggest how to do so.

Investment in one of B&R's ventures can either be 100% or in cooperation with China, added U Kyaw Win. More than 60 participating nations, among them Myanmar. As part of the project, the realization of major ventures is publicly announced, said U Kyaw Win.
