Act #2

I have said in other critiques that I somehow don't like to review because a) the taste is very individual and b) I don't even have the right words (I'm NOT a musician so much). Plus, I'm 40, so my customs just don't match the new mindset of the shorter period of life of the next 3 generations of MP3s... I still like listening to *albums* all the way through.

The first time I met Muse was her Resistance album, which I rated as good, but somehow artisan with a beautiful selection of style and tempi and classic influences, especially Queen. In my opinion, the first track has all the prerequisites for a James Bond film opening glory track. It has all the trademarks - the tragic blossoming strings, revised chozy lyric buildings to a full neck cry, thoughtful passages with a pseudo-military marching kind of beats, slowly constructing into a frantic fading craft after which it is fading, with a last metal guitars touch, so I almost SEE that the last loan graphics (usually a weapon running point of any kind) extend back from the opening scene into the very film.

I' m not joking - see a Bond film, one of them by the last cast - and then hear this track and introduce yourself via the opening track. Madness, the most frequently performed track, follows with its mesmerising singing and sound and its own slowly build-up.

The Panic Station is an exaggerated tribute to Styx or other orchestra oriented skirt songs in my ear, followed by Survival, a laughingly noisy, amusing comedy of a Gordon Gecko-like little alpaca man, a kind of musical ized dog-eater-centality. But only because the first few songs are so excellent - if not in the immediate vicinity, they can be heard quite well.

To me Follower Me just seems to be a papa, who is inferior to me with long songs, as well as animeals ( (although the last song has a very beautiful musicality). Then the end of the album returns everything. Sava Me begins slowly, but it' s growing on you, and Liquid State is building up to a mighty end.

And the first begins to sound as if to support the new Batman trio's fast string and dominant, incubating synthetic notation. Slightly more thoughtful than pondering, the second begins reminiscent of the film Children of Men with the kind of desperate "things collapse".

Muse-muse really seems to me to be a group that risks a great deal with their wide variety of vocals and their music and their classic, orchestra-like embellishments, and I think this album shows them in their full capacity. When there' s not a title you like on this album, you're probably just inside dying or just listening to the songs of Gregoria or something.

But what really surprises me is that my musical application is named "Disk 1"......is there a Disk 2 that I miss?
