Mbt Myanmar | Move Myanmar forward
The PARKROYAL Hotel, Yangon, today unveiled groundbreaking breakthroughs for MPT's flagship LTE+ networks that focus on increasing speed and calling to MPT clients in Myanmar. The MPT dramatically improves speed for Myanmar clients. MPT is also using a new carrier aggregation platform to improve the customer experiences in Yangon's city center.
Rollouts will begin in January at Junction Mawtin, Junction Square and Taw Win Centre malls, dramatically enhancing MPT customers' online experiences in these areas. While MPT knows that information is important, many of its clients still have to make and receive a call. It is researching ways to enhance this technique and shows the way forward today.
VoLTE (Voice over LTE) enables cleaner speech calling and less ambient noises. For the first case in Myanmar, MPT presented the way forward for the Myanmar's premier wireless communications service to the masses. MPT is pleased that the LTE+ grid will be expanded into 280 cities by the end of 2018.
The landmark means that MPT's LTE+ networking, the quickest in the nation, will be truly available national.
IPDSL charges in Burma to be reduced by MPT as of November 1
Myanmar State Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) plans to lower its ADSL rates from November 1, the state press said. For a new call, the charge drops from 50,000 MMK, while the actual month-to-month charge for 512 Kbps-2.5 Mbps calls drops from 30,000-200,000 MMK to 17,000-80,000 MMK.

MTP lowers the price of fibre-optic services
With an increasing number of users offering aggressively priced products, MPT remains one of the dominating providers of high-speed bandwidth, at least in terms of penetration. Technologically, the PSTN is the only one in the state with a PSTN net and thus offers ADSL service throughout the state.
While MPT also provides consumer fibre schedules, prices were out of date in view of recent developments in the Myanmar area. A new FTTH priceplan has been published by the local authority, which is highly offensive and will definitely rock the industry. There is a clear aim to react to Telenor, which published an attractive high-speed deployment schedule last year.
From now on MPT new fiber's range is restricted to one township in Yangon: According to the pubic owner, he will extend his offering to other Yangon and Mandalay cities by the beginning of next year. Reporting on other Myanmar towns will begin in 2018. The cost of installing is 150,000Ks for a finite period and then 200,000Ks.
In fact, according to my network, the service is really available and clients are upbeat. In terms of cost, MPT is here to rival Telenor, and if these two behemoth choose to expand their reach in an aggressive way, it will be a big challenge for the littlesters. MyanmarNet - one of the lowest priced ISPs on the market - sells its packets at an avarage of 30,000Ks per Mbps.
