Elderly pupils are given the opportunity to minister. Registration is necessary for all classes. 1, 2 and 3 days classes are shorter than usual for old people. Vipassana Shorts 1-day adult classes can start at 8:00 am and end at 5:00 pm Vipassana Shorts 3-day adult classes start on the night of the first and end on the night of the last one.
Each of the ten-day classes starts on the night of the first and ends in the early mornings of the last days. The classes are held exclusively on a fundraising base. The costs are covered by contributions from those who wish to give equal opportunities to others after completing a course and experiencing the advantages of Vipassana.
None of the instructors nor the assistants are remunerated; they and those who attend the classes work on a voluntary basis. Vipassana is thus free of commercialization. Elderly pupils are those who have attended a 10-day Vipassana meditation course with S.N. Goenka or his assistants. Bi-lingual classes are classes held in two different language combinations.
Every day all pupils listen to meditation instruction in both tongues. Lectures in the evenings will be listened to seperately. The meditation classes take place both in and outside the centres. The meditation centres are special institutions where regular classes are given throughout the year. Prior to the establishment of meditation centres in this ministry, all classes were conducted in places such as camping grounds, retreats, churches and suchlike.
Today, 10-day meditation classes are conducted at non-central locations in areas where no Vipassana native disciples have yet founded Centres. Vipassana 10-day classes are an introduction to Vipassana meditation where the techniques are learned every single working pass. Classes start after a 2 pm to 4 pm enrolment deadline followed by 10 full meditation sessions and end on the mornings of the eleventh week of the month.

Childrens classes are open to all kids from 8-12 years who want to study meditation. Your parents/guardians do not have to be mediators. The Satipatthana Sutta course has the same schedule and disciplines as 10-day classes. On the other hand, the Satipatthana Sutta is thoroughly studied in the recorded evenings.
That is the main text that explains Vipassana's technology in a systematic way. They are open to serious old people who have attended at least three 10-day classes, have not practiced any other meditation methods since the last 10-day class, have been practicing this Vipassana method for at least a year, and are trying to keep up their meditation practices and the five commandments in their everyday life, at least from the moment they enroll in the class.
Anapana classes for young people aged 13 to 18 years. Your parents/guardians do not have to be Vipassana medics. The Old-Student Short course (1-3 days) is for every pupil who has attended the 10-day course with S.N. Goenka and his assistants. Old people are invited to enrol for these classes, even if it was some while ago.
