Motor boats, potable mineral spring for flooded communities in the municipality of Minbya

Ongoing rains in the state of Rakhine have caused flooding in the city of Minbya and in the towns under the municipality of Minbya, and the inhabitants of some stations in the city and the towns have settled in convents and school. People affected by flooding need potable running water and certain towns need motor boats for emergency rescue. Minbya was completely inundated and the inhabitants of the suburbs were evacuated.

"The suburbs of Minbya - Min Bar Gyi, Aung and Thapyay Nyo - were increasingly flooded and[the residents] moved from smaller houses to larger houses. Several of them have moved to monasteries," U Thein San from Minbya said to Narinjara News. Flooding is problematic in over 30 townships along the Pan-myaung-gyi and Hpon-thar streams in Minbya Township.

"Districts on Pan Myaung Gyi Creek must be evacuated to the cloisters. Flood waters have flooded some towns around a man's altitude and along Phon Thar Creek. Situations are poor in the towns of Pwe-ya-kan-seik, Oe-pyin-taung, Pyin-yaung, Min-hpu and Ah-thay-ka-lar. Even the potable pools were flooded, so that the inhabitants need potable and potable waters.

"At least one meter high in the village. It is five foot high in the lower regions of the country. They are currently faced with a major problem with potable water," said Ko Ann Thar Gyi, president of Thingaha Kann Latt Rakhita Group. Mr. Ko Ann Thar Gyi paid a visit to Ah-thay-kar-la, Ka-la-ma Taung, Chin-seik, Taw-tan and Don-gyi, which were flooded by floods.

Also the inhabitants of some of the villages have problems with the evacuation because of the shortage of motor boats. "The inhabitants of the hamlet of Pwe-ya-kan-seik must be evacuated to convents, colleges and larger houses. The evacuation requires motor boats," said U Maung Thein Shwe from the small community of Pwe-ya-kan-seik. The town of Kat-pe near Pan-myaung-chaung Creek was also flooded with ten foot of flood water, so that the inhabitants abandoned their villages and escaped to the outcrop.
