" Rudyard written in 1889 during his stay. Moulmein, formally re-named Mawlamyine, was formerly the UK capitol of Lower Burma and is now the capitol of Mon State and the country's 4th biggest after Rangoon, Mandalay and Naypyitaw.

First thing in the morning, breakfasts at the guesthouse and long trip to Hpa An: the capitol of the Kayin State, home of the Kayin peoples. However, the major tourist features are spread out in the wonderful surroundings, making this an excellent area for relaxing tours, 288 km from Yangon, about 7h.
On the way sightseeing of the genuine lives of the locals and the beauty of the area. We will have our luncheon at Sein Le Tin Resort near Kyaik-Hto. When you approach Hpa An, you' ll see the Bayin Nyi Cave and the warm springs on the way. Arrival in Hpa An and check-in at thetel.
Following a refreshing dip, you' ll see the Shwe Yin Hmyaw Pongo, Kyaunk Kalap; the pillar or cliff rising out of a pond makes this cloister, Pongo and Natrein one of the most frequently shot places in Kayin State. Evening meal at your local Hpa An hotels in your own restaurants and accommodation. Following your bed and breakfasts at your guesthouse, your travel leader will take you to the Lumbani Garden & Mount Zwekabin: the highest of a range of calcareous mountain ranges, 2372 ft, topped by a stone statue allegedly containing Buddha's coat.
Later, visiting Kawgone Café; eight nautical miles southern of Hpa-An, the concealed art galleries of the seventh century inside the cavern. In Kayin State, see another popular cavern; Yathe Pyan (Hermit) Café and come back to the guesthouse. Tonight we will have supper at your local hotels and spend the night at the Hpa Antel.
Today, after having our breakfasts at your guesthouse, we will take a Than Lwin Princess Boat to Mawlamyine: the capitol of Mon State, located about 300 km southeast of Yangon on the southside of the powerful Thanlwin river, with views of the picturesque mouth of the Rio and the Gulf of Martaban. After arriving in Mawlamyine you will have lunch and dinner in a typical restaurants and after having finished your meal, sightseeing Mawlamyine Market and Kyauktalone Pagoda and enjoying the wonderful panorama views of the town and the Kyaik Thanlan Pagoda sundown.
In the evenings during your free time, supper and accommodation in a guesthouse. Following your bed and breakfasts at your hostel, head to Thanphyuzayat, 64km southern of Mawlamyine, famous for the Burma-Siam Railway, Death Railway and Allied War Cemetery. On the way back, see Win Sein Tawya, the world's largest lying Buddha picture, and see Mudon's handloom.
Back to Mawlamyine for the night. Today, after having finished our morning break at your accommodation, we leave Mawlamyine for Golden Rock: The pagoda is standing on a golden rock, which lies uncertainly at the border of the 1102 meter above sealevel hills, 149 kilometers about 5 hours driving time. After arriving at basecamp, have your midday meal and take a lorry to Obercamp; an exhilarating uphill lorry trip in the rainforest will be a miracle.
After arriving at the Obercamp, you' ll be checked in at the hostel, resting for a while and later visiting the splendid Golden Rock Platform. Evening meal and accommodation at the Golden Rock Guesthouse. You will be prepared to walk down the hillside after your breakfasts. After arriving at basecamp, head to Bago, an old Mon Kingdom capitol in the fifteenth century, 110 km (69 miles) about 3 hours driving from Golden Rock.
After arriving in Bago, head to Kya Khat Wai Monastery to see one of the country's three biggest convents and see how people live in Buddha style. See the beautiful Shwe Maw Daw, a 2,000-year-old monastery. Dinner in a restaurant and after dinner Shwe Thar Lyaung (The lying Buddha); 55 metres long and reaching back to 994 AD.
Later in the day you return to Yangon. Evening meal and accommodation at the hotel in Yangon.
