About The Mandalay region lies in the dry zone of Central Mandalay and borders the Bago region to the southwest, the Magway region to the southwest, the region of sagaing to the northeast and the state of Shan to the easter. It covers 14,295 sq. m. and its capitol is Mandalay City. Farming is the region's major economic activity, with the major crop being pads, cereals, corn, peanuts, peanut, seeds, cotton, legumes, chilli, onions, Myanmar tobaccos, Virginia tobaccos, Mahuya sunflowers and totdy palms.
