The US Navy Seabees extended the airport and built a 7,000 ft (2,100 m) runway, 25 combat aircraft, a 5,300 ft (1,600 m) taxi way and 16 bombers  Also known as South Drome, after the North Drome on the north part of Kirivina was completed.
