The second cement factory for the municipality of Kyaikmaraw is scheduled.

June-June Chemical Industry Ltd. will begin construction of a second concrete plant in the Pyar Taung area near Maekaro-Kawdon Village in Kyaikmaraw township, Mon State, after receiving approval from the Myanmar Investment Commission, said the company's people. A further enterprise, MCL in Kyaikmaraw, has already begun the construction of a concrete plant. The plant is scheduled to go into operation in the mid-year and produces 5,000 tonnes of concrete per year.

In June, the proposed plant will also be producing 5,000 tonnes of concrete per diem, but according to the natives, the plant did not negotiate with them or explain the pros and cons of the plant to the population. Mr. Borg also said that the plant could have a negative impact on community, healthcare and farming and that vibrations from the factory's mines could have a structural impact on people's old marquees, school buildings and lives.

Local people said that June Cement has bought arable lands between Maekaro Village and Kawdon/Kawpanaw Village in Kyaikmaraw Township since 2010 and now has 700 acre of them. On 25 March 2016, the Myanmar Investment Commission approved June Cement to construct the plant in session No. 11/2016.

The plant is scheduled to begin building this September.
