The Krabi (Thai: ??????, pronounced[kr?.bì?]) is the capitol of the Krabi region (thesaban mueang) on the western shore of South Thailand at the estuary of the Krabi River, where it is emptied in Phang Nga Bay. In 2010 the city had 52,867 inhabitants. It is the capitol of Krabi County and Krabi City.

The Krabi is located 783 km from Bangkok on the mainland. It comprises the Tambons Paknam and Krabi Yai of the Krabi District and is subdivided into 10 municipalities (Chumchon). A large part of the county has been allocated to several regional park. The top targets are Hat Noppharat Thara - Mu Ko Phi Phi Phi Nationalpark, Ao Nang,[7]Railay and Ko Phi Phi.

Phuket has over 80 smaller archipelagos such as Ko Lanta and Phi Phi Phi, known to adventure seekers, sailors, diver, snorkeller and tourists from Phuket. Krabi's coastline attracts both local Thais and migrants. The Ko Lanta National Park, also in the Krabi region, comprises several coral-lined islets with well-known dive spots.
