In Khon Kaen the Khon Kaen region is classified as a tropic savannah (Köppen climatic class Aw), with arid and very mild winter. Temperature rises until April, a very busy months, with an annual mean temperature of 36.4°C (97.5°F). May to October is the honeymoon period, with strong rains and somewhat colder daytime temperature, although night stays on.

The Khon Kaen (Thai: ???????, pronounced[k???(?)n k??n]) is the fifth biggest of the northeast province (changwat) of Thailand. Neighbouring democracies (clockwise from the north) are Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Buriram, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Phetchabun and Loei. In 1783, Rajakruluang was founded as the first town in the area, with 330 inhabitants.
In 1879 the capital was relocated six different places until it reaches its present site in Nuang Kaw. In the early days of Rattanakosin, around 2450 BC, Khon Kaen stood under the rule of Udon. Also known as the Lawa Project, an international recognised hepatophiliac control programme, the Integrated Opisthorchiasis Controls Programme is situated in the Ban Phai and Ban Haet counties just South of the town of Khon Kaen.
There are 26 provinces in the region (Amphoe). Part of Khon Kaen lies on the Khorat Plateau. Chi River runs through the county. One of the seals of the provinces shows the Phra That Kham Kaen statue (tower), which is thought to contain Buddha-relicts. Thai name of the pee means supporting and prevention of decay, and it is also the country floral.
Cassia bakeriana (the rose rain forest), whose Thai name is translated as "wish tree". The Khon Kaen airport is located at Khon Kaen airport, the Khon Kaen downtown is at least 20 min away and the surrounding Maha Sarakham Province, Kalasin Province and Udon Thani Province are about two hour away.
The Khon Kaen tramway network was served by Khon Kaen LRTransit 22.6 km, initially comprising 16 stops. Mittraphap Avenue, also known as "Friendship Highway" or "Highway 2", the street connecting Bangkok with the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge, crosses the town. There is a state-of-the-art multi-lane bypass that allows through to bypass the western center of the town, connecting the terminal and major highways to Kalasin Province and Maha Sarakham Province to the west and Udon Thani Province to the north.
Kaen Khon has clinics run by both the government and privatesector. Khon Kaen Clinic is the primary health care facility run by the Ministry of Health. There is also a campus clinic in the county - the Srinagarind Clinic of the Medical Faculty of Khon Kaen Medical School.
