Yesipur ("listen")[4][5][6] is the capitol and the biggest town of the state of Rajasthan in northern India. The town was established on 18 November 1727 by Jai Singh II,[7] the sovereign of Amer, after whom the town is called. From 2011, the town had 3.1 million inhabitants, making it the 10th biggest town in the state.

Yesipur is also known as the pink city, because of the predominant colouring of its monuments. Yesipur is a favourite travel spot in India and together with Delhi and Agra (240 km) is part of the western Golden Triangle. Yesipur is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Jantar Mantar and the Amer Fort.

Yesipur is one of the most special social areas of India. Founded in 1727, the village is called after Maharaja Jai Singh II, who was the main organiser of the town. It has a shared FM radio 7 (90. 4 MHz) FM radio station from India International School Institutional Network. Yesipur is situated on National Highway No. 8 between Delhi and Mumbai. The National Highway 12 connects Jaipur with Kota and the National Highway 11 connects Bikaner with Agra, which runs through Jaipur. Stadtbusses are run by JaipurCityTransport Services Limited (JCTSL)[61] of RSRTC.

Yesipur is the head office of the North Western Zone of the Indian Railways. The Jaipur Metro started operations on 3 June 2015.
