Visiting the Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp
Journey through the jungles to the elephant camp in Magwe Village. Feeding, bathing and interacting with the camp's elephant after a short intro. Treat yourself to a delicious dinner before hiking through the jungles in the afternoons or enjoy other elephant gatherings next to the marshes.
Departure in the mornings from Kalaw to Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp in the nearby Magwe town. When they arrive, a leader from the camp awaits transportation to the camp. Have a welcome beverage while learning about the day's activity, the camp's backgrounds and the elephant story in Myanmar.
Afterwards you will take a brief stroll to the riverbank and cross a reafforestation plan established by the camp and the people. Let the bulls greet you - the leader explains their name, ages and how they retired. Bowls of banana and sugar cane are put out to feed the cats.
Then put on your old fashioned shirt to get ready for the elephant swim. Go to a swimmingpool in the stream between two small waterfalls and swim with the elephant. Back to the afforestation area to grow a forest before going to the camp for dinner.
Go for a brief hike to reach the camp, which mostly goes downwards and leads through various woods where a wide range of wildlife is at home. In 45-90 min you will meet the camp's Elephant.
